Real Life

Last night, dad seriously asked me to help him with a  homework problem 2 minutes before I was set to go to bed. It ended up taking me nearly an hour to explain the problem to him, simply because he 1) seems to lack a fundamental understanding of algebra, and 2) insists on looking for shortcuts where there are none. I understand math wasn't what he focused on way back in high school, that it's been years, etc etc etc, but this is like his third semester of math at our college. If he doesn't know the algebra after 2 semesters of it, IDK if he will ever learn it.

But mostly I'm irritated because it was the last thing I wanted to be doing last night when I was getting ready to go to bed. And all I wanted to do was finish answering my email.
