Dean Winchester / Castiel

Carry On by TamrynEradani: When Sam gets into Stanford, Dean needs a bigger paycheck than Bobby's garage can give him. Luckily, he knows a guy. (*)

An Exercise in 'Worthless' by bestofthesky: Wherein Dean makes a hefty living as a tattoo artist who owns the space next to Gabriel's cafe. Sam attends the local university. When Gabe's cousin comes to live with him while starting grad school at Sam's university, Dean thinks for sure that all his negative karma's coming to bite him in the ass because Cas clearly has a thing for Sam. No one would ever choose him over Sam. That's just logic.

Inevitable Homoeroticism in Spanish Romantic Heroes by prosopopeya: Dean is a grad student studying for his MA in Spanish literature, and he’s pretty content with his sexuality as it is -- that is, fairly undefined and also secret. His attraction to Castiel, a professor to the undergrads, doesn't seem like a big deal until it becomes a very big deal, and Dean scrambles to keep his head above water.

Hands, From Which All Things Are Built by MajorEnglishEsquire: Castiel travels with the angel tablet and without the Winchesters. One day, Dean gets a text from some anonymous number. They speak in the language of need. A post-08.17 Goodbye, Stranger story. (*)

You Know Just Where To Find Me by MajorEnglishEsquire: Castiel meets creatures he's never fought before. Like Hondas. And the Internet. And Wyoming.

Have Love, Will Travel by squeemonster: Castiel Novak is a reclusive writer with a childhood so tragic it's left him terrified to leave his home—until his overbearing brother, Gabriel, drags him out for a night on the town full of booze and strip clubs, and he encounters Dean Winchester, a mesmerizing and mysterious stripper with secrets of his own. Both men find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other, and soon Dean's private dances for Castiel become much more, as both men confess their troubles and find solace in each other's company. But neither can seem to find the courage to take their relationship further than the intimacy of the club's VIP Room—and just when Dean's own brother gives him the excuse he needs to finally admit his feelings, Dean discovers something that brings it all crumbling down. Will they find a way past their demons and their trust issues, and back to each other?

Named by RC_McLachlen: Jesus Christ is dead. Somehow, that isn't the worst part of Dean's week.

Peanut Butter-Pumpkin Wedding Cake by Sparseparsley: Dean is a waiter in a strip club to put his kid brother through school. Castiel is dragged to the club as a part of his sister Anna's bachelorette party. Dean and Cas hit it off, but Dean thinks Cas is the one marrying Anna.

On the Wings of War by AlchemyAlice: The four Horsemen are not just people with fancy rings. They aren’t even demons with fancy rings. They are another species entirely, a force unto themselves, and Lucifer is kidding himself if he thinks that they are at his beck and call. They are separate. They are neutral. Dean Winchester is not built like them.

Sky 'Verse by starandrea:

  • Light Up The Sky For Me: At the end of the world, Dean still has Sam. What he doesn't realize is that there are other people willing to be his if he lets them.

  • When The Sky Calls You Home: Dean never really knows what's going on, but he's gotten used to that. If only the number of people he wants to protect would stop growing. (*)

  • Let The Sky Open Up: Dean decides to take back what Castiel gave up for him. He and Michael are more successful than he expected. Sam is not amused, Gabriel is not convinced, and Vancouver takes a lot of pictures.(*)

  • The Wayward Ones: Sam isn't about to stay out of Dean's new family just because they're all angels. He's pretty sure he can handle the children, but he wasn't expecting the supernatural prank war.

There's Only One Thing I Know For Sure by leah k: Dean doesn't even get halfway through explaining before Bobby starts laughing. When he lets himself think about it for more than five seconds, Dean can almost see Bobby's point: he's faced down demons, witches, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, angels, and Satan himself and now he's been defeated by the God damn Midwest.

The Parts of Our Sum by Annie D: Castiel, a former soldier, has worked for the Company his entire life. They've been good to him, providing clothes, shelter and new body parts whenever necessary. Now the Company's gearing up for a space exploration voyage, and Castiel's volunteered for the research team. During the preparation period, he meets Dean Winchester, who makes Castiel wonder about the things he's missed out on. (*)

Holy!Dean 'verse by bunnymaccool:

  • Are You There, Dean Winchester? It's Me ... God.: Dean Winchester has grown used to God dicking around in his life the last couple years. But this crap? This takes the CAKE ... or pie, rather. Now he's been thrown a whole new curve-ball. The kind that has ended the Civil War in Heaven ... but resulted in Raphael taking over, and hunting for Dean's ass on a silver platter. Not to mention dealing with Balthazar acting like a self-righteous prick, Sam having some big damn epiphany on his big brother's sexuality, and Cas eying him up like he's the world's juiciest cheeseburger. All that mixed with the chance to fix it all and set everything to rights ... but only if Dean is willing to sacrifice himself. Again. Seriously, if he ever meets that bastard God he's gonna- ... oh hey, Chuck! What are you doing here? (*)

  • Dean Winchester's Home for Wayward Angels: The war in Heaven was over and the world was right again. As right as it could be, anyway, considering there were still all manner of monsters and assholes scurrying free across its surface. The All Mighty Father had finally shown his face and cleaned up his mess. Of course, his version of cleaning had been using Dean Winchester as the mighty Swiffer of destruction in Heaven, but hey … it all ended up okay, right?Only now... Dean finds himself with a houseful of angels that are apparently his, a burgeoning relationship that he as NO IDEA what to do with, and Crowley sneaking about in the shadows. Oh... did he mention that he can somehow heal plants on accident and maybe fix the cracks in plaster by staring at them? Yeah, well... there's that.

  • Death Comes for Mr. Winchester. (Or just, perhaps, for a really excellent slice of pie.): Dean was pretty used to weird shit happening to him by now. Really, after you've been used as a weapon for God, saved the world, died, come back and then been told by the Almighty himself that the future of Heaven is in your hands ... what can really surprise you anymore? Okay, so ... maybe the two massive sets of wings he's recently acquired shocked him a bit. And early morning visits from the horseman of Death can be a tad off-putting. He really didn't foresee the Gabriel lusting after Sammy issue before it smacked him in the face, either. Then of course, Crowley suddenly being able to control Death's reapers kinda sucks, as does his perpetual boner for trying to snuff Dean from existence. So yeah. Basically he's pretty screwed. Although visiting the Texas State Fair was fun. (Even if it was in 1982. And he was with Death.) But hey, the corn-dogs were freaking delicious, so ... bonus!!!

One Species Too Many by wallmakerrelict: While Dean is laid up for a month after breaking his leg on a hunt, Cas decides that it's a perfect time to adopt a litter of kittens. But even though he's gotten better since Purgatory, Cas still isn't quite the same as he was before fixing Sam's head, and being trapped in a cabin with him for weeks on end is making that all the more obvious to Dean. When Sam takes off on a hunt, Dean has to figure out on his own how to navigate his new relationship with Cas while also helping to raise a bunch of fuzzballs that aren't even cute. Not even a little bit. (Well, maybe a little bit.)

Asunder by rageprufrock: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (*)

Exercise by cadignan: Dean didn’t even know the bunker had a gym for the first few weeks.

Looking for a Run-In by nox_wicked: In which Dean's the ex-pornstar turned bartender, Castiel is the rich weirdo dressed like Columbo, and Sam's the big fancy Lawyer who brought them together by accident.

And Yet, By Heaven by liadan14: The one where Cas is a Religious Studies professor and Dean’s the department secretary.

Ignite by the_gabih: Castiel helps Dean through his heat, and in doing so creates a whole new set of problems.

Play It All Night Long by janie_tangerine: the rom-com-ish one where Dean hosts a late night radio show, Castiel is a regular listener of his who starts calling one day and ends up calling more often than not and Dean finds himself liking it. This, until one day Castiel calls for not exactly petty reasons (just before Dean's brother Sam is visiting with his girlfriend for spring break) and things get very, very crowdy at his place. He also doesn't know it's just the beginning of it. Also features Gabriel, Chuck, Andy, the Roadhouse crew and a huge amount of music quoted. Especially Bob Dylan.

Grey by Valyria: When Castiel raised Dean Winchester from the Pit, he inadvertently claimed him as his mate.

We'll Stay Together 'Till We're Ghosts / Cinders Light the Path by MajorEnglishEsquire:

  • We'll Stay Together 'Till We're Ghosts: Castiel has landed, surrounded by fallen angels. Kevin is running again. Sam is going to die unless Dean can get him in the damn car, but Sam won't budge if Crowley stays behind. (*)

  • Cinders Light the Path: Crowley finds his place on Team Free Will while they work to unbind Sam from the demon blood forever.

vena amoris and other old-fashioned bullshit by pyrebi: In which angelic marriage bonds are apparently stupidly easy to trigger, Cas wages multidimensional war in Heaven, Dean can't catch a break like ever, Sam rather enjoys being a dick, love saves the day, and nobody consummates anything.
